Following more than a year of planning our contractors, William Anelay & Co Ltd, arrived on site on the 1st September to begin building their site compound. The site offices are discreetly sited near to the Stable block to provide a quiet area, where the many craftsmen working on the project, can find some peace and quiet from time to time.

The Althorp Literary Festival is approaching its 7th year and has established itself as one of the foremost summer arts’ and social events in the United Kingdom. Last year 'The Independent' voted it to be one of the top ten festivals (not just literary festivals) in the country.
A Historical Summer at Althorp

From the moment you reach Althorp you will feel the welcoming warmth of a house which has been the Spencer Family home for over 500 years, now open to the public throughout the months of July and August.
The Spencer family has lived at Althorp since 1508. Henry VIII hadn't even got through the first of his six wives when the family settled here, and Columbus had only "discovered" America sixteen years before.
